the guru meditated until he had a vision of the Goddess.
“what do you want this time?” she asked.
he explained about his school, and she was unmoved.
he explained about the banker, and she was unmoved.
he explained about his efforts, and she was unmoved.
but when he told her what the tortoise had done, she cried. she told him, “here is what you do: you forget the school. you become a wandering teacher, traveling across the world, teaching lessons of good will and compassion to all that you see. in this way, you will transform the world. you do not need a school.”
the guru replied, “but it’s so pretty!”
