214. all hallow’s #zen, part four

the guru walked down the hall.

the light grew brighter, and the guru realized that it was pulsing, as if it were breathing, as if it were alive. the guru reached out his hand, no longer thinking about the questions, no longer wondering what he would find, only knowing that he would find it.

but another part of his mind began to scream in pain. if it could articulate, it would have yelled, “stop!” it would have made him turn around and run back out into the woods and away from this house, never looking back, never regretting his decision.

open the door.
