the guru’s personality test had the opposite effect that he intended. instead of teaching about different personalities and fostering empathy, the test divided the students into groups: all of the tortoises in one, all of the sunflowers in another, and so on.

finally, the guru redid his personality test so that no matter what answers a student gave, the test always said the same thing:

“you are an individual, like every other.”
