when they threw the sage in jail, some of his students lamented and cried out, “why have they attacked our sage, who has done nothing but preach love?”
but the sage replied, “it is because i have preached love that they have thrown me in jail. for they believe that everything is limited and must be rationed out, so they give only a little, and keep the lot for themselves. but i have come to say that love is endless, love is free, love lasts forever and breaks all the laws. and so they must throw me in jail, to prove me wrong. but love will break these bars and spread throughout the land. they can kill me, but they cannot kill love.”
“they’re going to kill you?” a student asked.
“well, hopefully not!”
